 Our daughter received ACT tutoring from James. While she was never thrilled with having to do test prep for the ACT, she reluctantly agreed to do so. Her meetings with James proved to be incredibly beneficial and she never came out of the sessions complaining. She only expressed how much he helped her and how she was better mastering the material. She really enjoyed meeting with James. He was patient, organized, incredibly skilled at identifying her strengths and weaknesses and knowing where and how much time to spend working on certain areas. James' SAT tutoring is a rigorous and effective program that still manages to be comfortable. He's easy to talk to--I never once felt embarrassed discussing concepts I did not understand or questions I got wrong on my practice tests. His guidance helped me identify effective test-taking strategies that helped me improve my score. While our prep focused on the SAT, I ended up taking the ACT as well--I scored a 35 by keeping his lessons and insights in mind. His 1-on-1 sessions are effective at helping diagnose recurring problem areas, as well as understanding how to tackle them in the future. By working with James, I was able to develop reading strategies specific to understanding the style of literature the SAT features, as well as quick ways to identify SAT math problems and their solutions.
